JISC Historic Books and JISC Journal Archives are JISC funded platforms developed on behalf of JISC Collections in collaboration with Mimas, British Library, Okana and Mickey and Mallory.
JISC Collections
JISC Collections is a membership organisation, established by the UK Higher and Further Education funding councils, to support the procurement of digital content for education and research in the UK. JISC Historic Books and JISC Journal Archives are part of their new JISC eCollections service.
Mimas
Mimas is a nationally designated data centre. We host a significant number of the UK's research information assets but our core expertise is building applications that enable a wide range of users to make the most of this rich resource. We are responsible for the development and service delivery of the JISC Historic Books and JISC Journal Archives platforms.
The British Library
The British Library are leading on addressing the challenges of collecting, preserving and providing access to the world's digital knowledge. Digitised books from their 19th century collection are included in JISC Historic Books.
Okana
Okana is a private Autonomy specialist software and services company with expertise in the development, deployment and support of systems powered by Autonomy IDOL technology. They have developed the JISC Historic Books platform.
Mickey & Mallory
Mickey & Mallory is an independent UK agency working for a wide range of clients including the Education, Healthcare and Government sectors. They have helped to develop the JISC Journal Archives platform in partnership with Mimas.
